Now that George Bush is out of office and I have officially retired my show, The Re-Education of George W. Bush–No President Left Behind, it seems time to release this performance into the wild.
And in keeping with hard economic times, the play is available in an audio CD format (protects your pocket while it enriches your imagination.)
This past summer I performed the play as a plenary address to the Friends General Conference, a large national Quaker gathering. This is the recording of that show along with my remarks afterward.
I performed this “Bush play” more often in Europe than in the US, which makes me sad as I designed the play with an American audience in mind. It turned out to reach a broad range of people.
Of all my plays I see this one as the most artistic, complex and balanced with an interplay of humor, information, personal story and dramatic tension. Hopefully now that I have a CD of it, folks who were unable to see it in the States (and elsewhere) and those who saw it and loved it, will get to experience it in the car, on the ipod, on the treadmill, etc.
You can get your own copy at Quaker Books for the incredibly low price of $12.00.
