In a Tub-o-Love!

I feel as if I have been soaking in a tub-o-love these days. I just returned from a trip to California where I hung out with Vincent Cervantes (and his partner, who is conveniently named Vincent too!). We got to play with voices and with the Homo No Mo script. Vince’s partner had to put up with a lot of characters.

I then went down to San Diego for the 2009 Transgender Leadership Summit. What an amazing time with such dear folks, so smart and creative and talented and FUNNY!

I need to write a proper blog entry about what I saw and learned, but sadly it will have to wait. After flying in on the red-eye yesterday, I had less than 36 hours to recuperate from a cold, wash some clothes and prep for my next trip that will take me to Asheville, NC, Chapel Hill, NC and Washington, DC.

But back to that Tub-o-Love…hanging out with Jayna and Mila and Vince and Vince and Sheila and Gwen and Joe and Johnny–ah, it just has been a good time, with lots of laughs, deep conversations, great meals, and much learning.

My flight is fixin’ ta board, so I must sign off. Thanks for all the love!

I enjoyed having lunch with you on Saturday. I finally got a chance to watch the Homo No-Mo DVD. At the risk of sounding cliche, I laughed and cried. Well done! Thank you for having the courage to share your experiences and doing so in such an entertaining and poignant way. You are a beautiful human being.

Peterson – it was so very delightful to have you with us last weekend. Dinner and conversation were great and I was truly touched by your transfigurations play. I’m sure you saw the tears in my eyes at the end.

Thank you so much for all you did for all of us at the summit and for sharing your unique and wonderful perspectives with us! And thanks for not letting me hit that poor girl crossing the street!

Huge hugs from your T friends in California!!! Come back soon!

Dharmashanti! I never made the connection that you are the person behind the many wonderful comments on my blog! Great to meet you for reals. I was actually quite ill during the summit and hopped up on cold medicine, so I may have missed something at lunch.

Gwen, you are so sweet. thanks for putting up with two divas–Sheila and me (good thing I left Elizabeth Jerimiah home!) Thanks for all the rides.

Two divas… I love it! You two were definitely a hoot! Thanks for putting up with a crazy homicidal transbian driver–that’d be me. =P
