Really I shouldn’t be typing. I’ve been on the road since Wednesday morning and still have another flight from Joburg to Cape Town. The brain is fried as I sit at Wimpy Burgers waiting for my vegetarian breakfast.
I don’t know if I will have opportunities to be on-line, but I will be sure to post photos when I have them. In spite of our trip losing three days because of the East Coast storm that delayed us from leaving JFK, it will still be a full trip with a few days in Cape Town, Joburg, and Port Elizabeth in addition to our week in the Transkei at the Wild Coast as part of a cultural immersion. We will be near the beach, so I predict sun and sea immersion.
I brought three books to read–The Glass Castle, a memoir, The Red Tent, a novel, and a biography of Eleanor of Aquitaine. I also brought a PD James mystery but realized I read it before and now find it boring.
Well my meal has arrived, and my flight leaves soon. Happy New Year.
Enjoy your stay. As a Saffer abroad, I look forward to seeing your pics and reading your impressions. (The three cities you name are precisely the three where I have family).
Happy belated new year. 🙂
