Peterson's unique history and experiences along with his method of delivery created a fantastic and engaging experience for our students, faculty and staff, as well as local community members. His ability to weave an engaging message about religion, gender & sexual identity, & climate change is a great opportunity to take a holistic and creative lens to how all these issues are interconnected and woven together. If you are considering bringing him to you campus stop considering and just do it, you are sure not to be disappointed.
Peterson Toscano is a tremendous asset in the college classroom. His insight, humor, compassion, and breadth of perspective enlivened my students and encouraged them to feel hopeful even in this time of climate change. His mixture of vulnerability and comedy enabled those of us in his audience to access our own authentic feelings about the predicaments of the 21st century. Peterson brings extensive knowledge, extraordinary people skills, dramatic talent, and poignant characters to his presentations. I highly recommend him as a guest teacher and speaker on college campuses anywhere.
Peterson Toscano was such a gift to our campus. In visiting a number of classes and groups, he brought his unique take on issues that concern us all, delivered by a cast of characters that had us laughing and nodding in agreement. He was also flexible, professional, and a joy to work with.
He does such a good job at taking really big and scary issues … and is able to present them in a way that is accessible. One of the best things his talks are able to do is focus on the intersections of people’s identities and social justice issues, and not a lot of people are able to do that.
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
From three days up to threes weeks Peterson has been invited for residencies at universities including Haverford College, University of Puget Sound, Virginia Theological Seminary, Warren Wilson College, and Cambridge University. He teaches classes in religion, theology, gender studies, environmental science, and social sciences as well as meets with campus groups. While on campus Peterson presents public performances that bring in a diversity of students and faculty as well as community members off-campus.
